Re: Strengthening the bond between blocks

I always found tacky glue to be slightly flexible when set. While stateside I switched to Elmer's wood glue. Dries hard as a rock. Ended up using that for basing and all in the end. Bonus, you can go...

Re: Strengthening the bond between blocks

I've tried wood glue, but it must have been some cheap dollar store brand - the adhesion was worse than it is now.  I'll check out Elmer's wood glue the next time I am at either Home Hardware or Home...

The only adhesion problems I've ever had with Aileen's tacky glue was when moisture weakened the bond. I've glued a lot of blocks with that stuff. Have you tried using the same glue to glue other...

Re: Strengthening the bond between blocks

a coat of finish also tightens up any bonds. The stuff will wick into any seams and act as glue. Wouldn't work if you have a big gap, but provides a nice tight bond. This works even after you've...

Re: Strengthening the bond between blocks

Gorilla Glue is great, but it expands and might be a little hard to control, also it sucks moisture out of what you are gluing, to help with the bond supposedly?  Also best thing about yellow Elmer's...
